Sensei Perkins has 50 years in Isshinryu Karate & Kobudo. He is ranked as 8th Dan in Isshinryu by Sensei Harold Mitchum, 10th Dan, Sensei Tom Lewis, 9th Dan and the United Isshinryu Karate Association. Perkins is also ranked as 9th Dan in Tokushinryu Kobudo by it's founder Tokumura Kensho Sensei, 10th Dan, Okinawa. Sensei Perkins keeps close ties with Okinawa traveling frequently to the "Island of Karate & Kobudo" to further his training. He is also ranked as 7th Dan in Okinawa Shorinjiryu Karate by Sensei Roy Osborne, 8th Dan and 5th Dan in RyuKonKai Kobudo by Iha Kotaro Sensei, 10th Dan, Okinawa.
Jeff is an Inductee of the Isshinryu Hall of Fame and his dojo, the Okinawa Budo Kai, was awarded "Dojo of the Year" for 2017 also through the IHOF. He is also an inductee of the International Karate & Kickboxing Hall of Fame. Sensei Perkins is President of the Isshinryu Tomo No Kai and USA Director for Tokushinryu Kobudo.
He sits on the Board of Directors for the World United Isshinryu Karate Association.
Sensei Perkins is a retired Police Lieutenant with over 36 years of experience. He currently teaches Defensive Tactics to Police Recruits and Security Police at the Wayne County Regional Police Training Center in Michigan. Sensei Perkins also teaches Firearms Classes for Schoolcraft College.
